On a rainy day I was looking for a good place for a quiet time. My host family recommended Hoshino Coffee. They said it was a quiet coffee shop where they would “leave me alone” due to their “ping-pong” method service where you push a button anytime you want to order or need something, otherwise they leave you alone. After about a 20 minute walk from my house, I found it!
I ordered the Banana Brûlée Pancake and a Cafe Latte.
After such a sweet dessert I needed some savory so I ordered the egg and toast. The egg was cooked in a custard cup with this amazing potato puree and an espagnole-type sauce
It ended up being a really good chance to journal and process my transition to Japan and read some letters people wrote for my departure. I even got so spend some facetime with friends during breakfast!
